SONOBI ESTABLISHES A CORPORATE PRESENCE IN EUROPE; HUB FUELED BY SIGNIFICANT REGIONAL GROWTH AND EXPANDING CLIENT ROSTER
Media Exec Gareth Holmes to Lead European Operation
New York, NY – August 4, 2016 – Sonobi, a leading independent ad technology developer, announces today that it is establishing a hub of operation in London to oversee its expanding business across Europe. Founded in 2011, Sonobi has expanded as a marketplace serving buyers and sellers. In this past year alone, Sonobi experienced triple digit growth (199%), fueled primarily by its commitment to “guaranteed audience” buying launched last year.
The growth and client adoption to date for Sonobi has solely been driven by organic growth and word of mouth in the U.S. Over 2,400 publications have signed on to Sonobi’s JetStream Publisher Suite, and based on their 2015 launch of JetStream Agency Suite, agencies such as Merkle and Omnicom Media Group have also signed on to be a part of Sonobi’s unique demand profile for publishers.
Sonobi’s President Anthony Katsur comments: “Our explosive growth has been driven by both our publishers and advertisers believing in the singular mission of people-based marketing: advertising to a precise set of buyer-defined customers on the world’s best media brands can deliver not only a quality ad experience but results for all parties. We are excited to extend the value we are creating for our clients in the U.S. into the global marketplace.”
Building on this momentum, Sonobi has begun their global expansion by securing Gareth Holmes as their Managing Director of EMEA, based in London. Holmes, a seasoned media executive with over 15 years of experience focusing on mobilizing data to communicate directly with consumers, was formerly commercial director at PubMatic. Prior to PubMatic, Holmes led all European buying for BlueLithium and subsequently Yahoo! UK (as it had acquired BlueLithium). He then launched B3, latterly The Mig and Xaxis, in Europe as employee #3. He was at the forefront of Audience buying in 2006 and is a champion of this strategic approach, having personally executed the first real-time buy in Europe.
On taking the reins of the European operation, Holmes says: “I’ve been watching Sonobi since they released guaranteed audience buying November of last year, I knew then the leadership steering Sonobi and I were thinking similarly. This demonstrated great leadership, perspicuous innovation and a people-centric approach making Sonobi the only place I wanted to join. I’m thrilled to be joining the team to help fuel growth and write the next chapter.”
